Survey: Influencers can help spread marketing message
“Influencers” — online consumers who are active networkers, subject matter experts, bloggers and online community participants — are a sought-after marketing audience totaling about 17% of the Net population, according to a new report from DoubleClick. Marketers should reach out to influencers because they tend to share their opinions on products and experiences with friends and family, the report said.

Retailers are mining data to improve their bottom lines
Business intelligence (BI), which can deliver real-time reporting and event-based forecasting as well as traditional after-the-fact reporting, is at or near the top of many retailers’ priority lists. For several years, retailers have spent prodigiously on data collection technology and that technology has delivered, capturing and putting vast amounts of data at retailers’ fingertips.
